Joseph Johnson, 26, of Rockford, passed away during the early morning hours of Monday, January 29, 2018. He was born on June 3, 1991 in Rockford to William and Valerie (Hughes) Johnson. The illness of addiction that had stolen Joe's loving personality took his life. He wanted nothing more than to be a good dada to his daughter, Paisley, someone she would be proud of and able to spend time with. His family and friends will remember him for his quiet demeanor, love for sports, especially the Green Bay Packers, the yearly trips to Balsam Lake and his love for his nieces and nephews. He was a 2009 graduate of East High School, a member of the National Honor Society, as well as East's football, wrestling and track teams. Our broken hearts will forever feel the loss and emptiness of his absence.
Survivors include his daughter, Paisley; parents, Bill and Valerie; siblings, Laurie (Dave) Miller, Brad (Sara) Johnson and Hollie (Corey) Roser; maternal grandpa, James Hughes; Paisley's mom, Ambrielle Mercer-Myers; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Predeceased by his paternal grandparents and maternal grandma.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in Honquest Family Funeral Homes with Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 4311 Mulford Rd. Loves Park 61111 with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial at Willwood Burial Park. Memorial contributions can be made to the family.
