John E. McCarty

John E. McCarty, 75, of Rockford passed away Thursday, June 1, 2017. Born January 9, 1942 in New Auburn, WI to Asa and Irene (Deminsky) McCarty. Retired after 35 years from Ironworkers Local 498. John enjoyed woodworking, camping, fishing, boating, and will be remembered for his strong work ethic. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include son, John E. (Jenny) McCarty, Jr. of South Beloit; grandchildren, Taylor, Kylie, Abbey; sister, Sharon Niezgodzki; special nieces, Maxine “Mickey” Smith, Yolanda (Don) Moline, Kathy (Brandon) Burman; and several other loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2017 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory – Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 6, 2017 in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the family to be used in John’s name at a later date.
