John Jordan Obituary

John A. Jordan, 89, of Roscoe, passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2018.  He was born in Selmer, TN on August 18, 1928 to John F. and Alcie Mae (George) Jordan.  For 68 years he was married to Mattie Sue Brewer, his high school sweetheart.  John was a Mason, belonged to the Early V8 Ford Club of Rockford and the Upper Midwest Blacksmith Association. He was employed for over 40 years at Scot Forge Co., advancing to forge master and then management. As a well-read individual, he had knowledge of just about any subject.  A fan of baseball, football and auto racing, John also loved tending his vegetable garden. John and Mattie Sue enjoyed traveling and had visited Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Alaska and several European countries.   

He is survived by his wife, Mattie Sue; son, Ronald (Roselyn); daughter, Tina (Bill) Fuenty; grandchildren, Stevie Rose, Melissa, Brandi Nicole, RaeAnn, Robert and Christopher; five great-granddaughters; one great-great-grandson; brother, George (Irene); sisters, Carrie Neal Lewis and Sandra Kay (Dennis) Green. He was predeceased by his parents; son, Steve; brother-in-law, Jack Lewis.  

Funeral service will be at 3:00pm with a Visitation from 1:00pm until 3:00pm on Saturday, March 10, 2018 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory, 11342 Main Street, Roscoe, IL 61073.  Burial in Roscoe Cemetery.
