Jason Reid VanderWaal

Jason Reid VanderWaal, 42, left us too soon. Born September 9, 1975 to Sheri and Dennis, he passed away September 10, 2017. He was an avid Bears fan to say the least. He loved the game of football. He excelled in it while playing during high school, and even went on to play semi professional for the Rockford Lions. He loved collecting tools and antiques which was one of his life’s passions. He was a connoisseur of any and all heavy equipment including tractors; anything with an ignition as he put it. He was a jack of all trades. “A jack of all trades is a master of none, but often times is better than a master of one.” He wore many hats, his repertoire included pastor, professor, sensei, and counselor as he provided a shoulder and sound advice to many.

Survivors include the love of his life, Denise Wolfram; beloved children, Alex, Nathan, Emily; parents, Sheri and Mike; best friend and sister, Jennifer; as well as sisters, Mandy, Kaitlyn; special niece, Audrey who was like a daughter to him; and longtime furry companion, Patches.

Celebration of life will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, September 16, 2017 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory – Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Jason VanderWaal Memorial Fund at Associated Bank.
