Jacob M. Sims

Jacob M. Sims, 28, of Rockford, gained his wings on April 5, 2018.  He is now the Guardian Angel to his beloved daughter, Laila Sedrick-Sims as well as his cherished son, Jackson Ware-Sims.  Jacob was known for his courageous spirit and willingness to tackle any problem head on.  He was a huge inspiration to those around him.  While he will be forever missed, he will also be forever remembered, and his life forever celebrated.

He is survived by his mother, Dawn Sims; brother, Joshua Sims; sister, Jenna Sims; grandmother, Diane Thruman; several loved aunts, uncles, cousins, Michael Simpson, Justin Simpson, and Roger Sims; and close friends including Corey, Trevor, David, and Dustin. Jacob is now looking over his family and friends with his grandfather, James (Jim) Thruman, with whom he shared a special bond, as well as with his best friend, Matthew.   

Memorial service will be at 1:00pm on Friday, April 13, 2018 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory-Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park, IL 61111.
