Gerald "Jerry" L. Furbush

It is with great sadness that the family of Gerald "Jerry" Lee Furbush announces his passing on Christmas morning December 25, 2017 at the young age of 83.  Jerry, a native of Hinckley, IL, was a graduate of Hinckley High School Class of 1952. He joined the United States Marine Corps in 1953 and served in the Korean War and was Honorably Discharged in 1961. His awarded Medals include "National Defense Service", "Korean Service", "United Nations Service", "China Service" and "Good Conduct". He was a member of the Illinois Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 134 out of Chicago for over 50 years. Jerry enjoyed playing basketball and social gatherings in which he was the life of the party. He loved fishing, NASCAR and pro wrestling.

Jerry is survived by his wife Brenda; children Cathy, Jeff, Karen, Patrick and Renee; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sisters, Donna and Elaine.  He was 1 of 5 children from parents Ralph and Caroline Furbush.

A celebration of Jerry's life will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 from 3:00pm - 6:00pm in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory, 11342 Main St., Roscoe IL 61073 with Military Honor Guard Presentation at 4:00pm and Prayer Service at 5:00pm.
