Gerald E. Nance

Gerald E. Nance, 81, of Machesney Park, died peacefully at home Wednesday, May 18, 2016. He was born on December 21, 1934 in Rockford to George and Lucelle (Fagerburg) Nance. He married Sandra Darnell on July 28, 1956 in Belvidere, Illinois. Gerald worked at Rock River Distributors for over 20 years from which he retired in 1999. He was an avid fisherman, coached and managed a little league baseball team at Northwest Community Center, and was captain of his weekly bowling team. 

Survivors include his wife, Sandra; daughters, Brenda (Jeff) Donaldson, Valerie (Leslie) Bartholomew, and Melanie (Ken) Pfleider; son, Greg (Cindy) Nance; 13 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

A memorial visitation will be held at 11:30 a.m. with a service to follow at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, May 27, 2016 in Honquest Family Funeral Homes with Crematory, Roscoe Chapel, 11342 Main St. Roscoe, Illinois 61073. Memorial contributions can be made to the family.
