Garr Klontz

Garr Klontz, 74, of Machesney Park, passed away to be with The Great Creator on March 5, 2018 after a short illness at OSF St. Anthony Hospital.  He was born January 29, 1944 in Freeport, Illinois.  Garr was the son of Paul W. and Ramona M. (Olson) Klontz.  He is survived by his daughters, Thea (Don) Wilcox  of Wesley Chappel, FL and Gretchun (Chistopher) Mercer of Winter Haven, FL; grandchildren, Gryffon and Tamber Mercer.

Garr was a lifelong machinist/tool and die maker.  He loved to hunt, fish and spend time in the wilderness.  He was also a talented woodworker.  Garr always had stories to tell and he enjoyed his time with many special friends.  He loved big band music and dance.

Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2018 in Honquest Family Funeral Homes with Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Rd., Loves Park, IL 61111 with visitation from 12:00 p.m. until time of service.
