Esther A. Nyen

Esther A. Nyen, 98, of Rockford passed away Sunday, February 4, 2018. Born January 29, 1920 in Arcadia, WI to George and Clara (Giemza) Sonsella. Retired from F.W. Means. Esther volunteered at soup kitchens and various churches to clean children’s toys. She also enjoyed word searches, sewing, playing solitaire, reading, and traveling.

Survivors include children, LaVonne (Frank) Eisenrich of Rockford, IL, Joan (Jerry) McCracken of Springfield, MO, Kermit Nyen, Jr. of Kings, IL, Diane Bertman of Rockford, IL, Sue (Gary) Johnson of Lindenwood, IL, Allen (Edie) Nyen of Castlerock, CO, Steve (Roseann) Nyen of Phoenix, AZ, Dee (Mike) Davis of Rockton, IL; numerous grandchildren; great grandchildren; 2 sisters; 1 brother; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by 1 brother; and 2 sisters. A special thank you to the staff at River Bluff for all their kind and loving care.

Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 21, 2018 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory - Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park with a visitation from 1:00 p.m. until time of service.
