Edward A. Schraiber

Edward A. Schraiber, 86, of Rockford, passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 after a long battle with cancer.  He was born January 18, 1932 in Rockford, IL to John and Julia Szrajba.  He married his child bride, Joanne Zeis on October 20, 1951.  He served his country in the Army during the Korean War and worked many years as sales manager at Nihan and Martin and retired from Menards.

He is survived by his wife, Joanne; children, Steve (Judy) Schraiber, Monica (John) Wilson, Greg (Lori) Schraiber, Mark (Sandy Emry) Schraiber, Rich (Jill) Schraiber and Jim Schraiber; three grandchildren, Eric Schraiber, Adam Schraiber and Melissa Pitney; and four great-grandchildren, Dawson, Ava and Bennett Schraiber and Logan Pitney.

A special thank you goes out to Dr. Kahn and the Cancer Center, the staff at Cherry Vale Place and all the nurses at OSF Hospice.

Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00pm with the Rosary recited at 3:30pm on Sunday, March 25, 2018 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park 61111.  Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am on Monday, March 26, in Holy Family Church, 4401 Highcrest Road, Rockford 61107.  Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Winnebago.
