Doris Olson

Doris Olson, 73, of Loves Park, passed away on June 9, 2017 after being diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis in January 2011. She was born in Belvidere on August 13, 1943 to Claire and Leona (Brown) Diamond. Doris worked at Sundstrand Machine Tool from 1961 to 1969 where she met her husband, Ron Olson. Doris and Ron got married on November 4, 1967 at the State Street Baptist Church in Rockford. She was also baptized at State Street Baptist Church with her parents and younger brother, Duane, on October 27, 1963. Doris worked at Dr. Schroeder, Dr. Brechon, D.D.S. from 1974 to 1989. She then worked at OSF Lifeline Ambulance from 1993 until she retired in 2007. Ron and Doris hosted an annual Labor Day breakfast for family and friends for 40 years serving Swedish Kroppkakors. Doris enjoyed lunch with the ladies, holiday get togethers with family, eating out with friends, and gambling at Molly's. She was also a die-hard Chicago Bears fan. 

Survivors include her husband, Ron Olson of Loves Park; daughter, Susan Moore of Belvidere; brother, David (Kathy) Diamond of Stevens Point; many cousins, nieces and nephews, and special dog, Molly. She is predeceased by her parents; brother, Duane Diamond; many aunts and uncles.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, June 16, 2017 in Honquest Family Funeral Homes with Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Rd., Loves Park, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Paws or The Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
