Charles E. Owens

Charles E. Owens, 79, of Rockford passed away Saturday, July 15, 2017. Born December 18, 1937, in Jonesboro, Arkansas to Vernie and Gladys (Newberry) Owens. Veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Charles enjoyed the St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Bears, Arkansas Razorbacks, and NASCAR. He also enjoyed listening to Willie Nelson, working in the yard, and was known for being very patriotic.

Survivors include daughters, Cathy Dietrich, Debbie Ward; grandchildren, Stephanie (Robert) Masterson, Kyle Dietrich; great grandchildren, Garrett Masterson, Abigail Masterson; sister, Diane Hare, and several nieces, and nephews. Predeceased by parents; and brothers, Tom, J.D., Vernie, and Ernest Owens.

Private family services are to be held. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the family or to the American Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.org.
