Caren L. Peters

Caren L. Peters, 74, of Machesney Park passed away Saturday, October 1, 2016. Born August 1, 1942 in Freeport to Charles and Evelyn (Graf) Spear. A graduate of Mt. Morris High School, where she then went on to receive her Bachelor Degree in Nursing from Freeport Memorial School of Nursing. Married Lyle Peters on June 26, 1964 in Mt. Morris. Caren collected Longaberger baskets, enjoyed travelling out west to visit family, and the occasional trip to the casino.

Survivors include husband, Lyle Peters; daughters, Deborah (Mark) O’Dell, Angela Peters-Ziemer; grandchildren, Brian (Audra) O’Dell, Brooke O’Dell, Zachary Ziemer, Spencer Ziemer; siblings, Sandy (Bob) Wetter, Chuck (Anne) Spear, Pam (Jerry) Wetter; brother-in law, Larry Peters; sisters-in-law, Carol (Emmy) Stees, Betty Zachman; special friend, Mary Rogers; aunts; uncles; several nieces and nephews; and fur great grandchildren, Tank, Armor, and Zeus.

Private family services are to be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family to be used in Caren’s name at a later date.
