Becky M. Foster

Becky Meyers Foster, 67, of Rockford died Sunday, July 16, 2017.  Born June 22, 1950 in Rockford to Lauren and Betty (Jackson) Meyers, she was the youngest of four siblings. Becky taught for 25 years at numerous schools in the Rockford School District, finishing her career with a long period at Froberg Elementary School. An Auburn High School alum, she received her Bachelor’s degree from Northern Illinois University and went on to earn a Master’s degree in Education. Becky loved spending time in nature - especially fishing, golfing, gardening, pickleball and walking through the woods - and enjoying the companionship of the many and various pets she had over her lifetime. A lifelong learner, she enjoyed reading and watching anything related to Sherlock Holmes, Tarzan and the history of Egypt.

She is survived by her son, Eric Foster, and his family; three siblings, Barbara, Bonnie and Barry; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, July 21, 2017 with a visitation at 2:00 p.m. until the service, in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family to be used in Becky's name.
