Amanda Ortiz-Bergsten

Amanda Ortiz-Bergsten, 35, of Loves Park, passed away Monday, September 19, 2016 in her home. Amanda was born August 12, 1981 in Homestead, Florida. She moved to Rockford after her family’s home was devastated by Hurricane Andrew. She worked at Coca-Cola where she found the love of her life, Eugene Bergsten. The couple lived together for nine years and had one son, Xavier Bergsten, together. She loved them with all of her heart. Amanda and Eugene married June 20, 2015 in Door County. The couple vacationed there every year since they met. That was her relaxation destination and she had aspirations of moving there later in life. Amanda enjoyed traveling around Wisconsin, attending Milwaukee Brewer games, the San Francisco 49ers, and spending time with her friends and family. She was a strong, beautiful, and caring person. Amanda was full of life and will be extremely missed by Eugene, Xavier, friends, and family.

Survivors include her husband, Eugene; son, Xavier; parents, Alfredo and Irma Ortiz; brother, Martin, David and twin brother, Adam (Jolynn); sister-in-law, Marlisa; aunt, Justina; cousin, Roy;  in-laws, William and Solveig Maschke, Hy Bergsten; sister-in-law, Kristina Bergsten; aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews from all over the United States since she came from a very large loving family. She will forever be in our hearts.

Services will be 10:30am, Saturday, September 24, 2016 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 4311 North Mulford Road, Loves Park.  Visitation will be 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Friday in the funeral home.  Memorials to the family.  To express condolences or share a memory, visit www.honquestfh.com.
